I have an Avaya IP Office 11.0.4.0.0 along with the linux Application Server. Every so often the process for the one-x portal crashes, which I then have to root into the Application Server and restart the processes manually. Our software platform has a telephony integration that relies on this service, so it's critical that this stays up. It takes about 15 minutes to start backup when the service is restarted.

Our provider is pretty useless as they are throwing their hands in the air and saying we don't know what's going on. Has anyone else experienced this?

one-X Portal is famously sensitive to available RAM, so if you've got less then 4GB (and preferrable more) then you'll have problems.

The slow startup is also a common one-X Portal issue and usually related to logging, as in the one-X Portal developers frequently leave it configured to log absoloutely everything by default even when everything is working fine.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Thanks for you reply.

So it has 16GB of RAM, which the JVM Max. Memory for the One-X Portal is set to 7.9GB. Should I increase this?

Something I also noticed was right before I restarted the process, the java process run under user onexp was consuming 100% CPU at the time.

The only use for the one-X Portal in our environment is just for the CTI Centralized Web Services API, which is still in the development phase. So even when it sits idle and nothing is invoking the API, this behavior still occurs.

Out of my memory..

Wasn't this a known issue related to logs that keeps filling up, using all the storage capacity?
