One X Mobile R10 and iPhone "could not connect to server" 1

One X Mobile setup by the book for R10. FQDN for both Appserver and IPO. Just want twinning option. No SIP.
Works for Android just fine but iPhone gets "Could not connect to server".
Yes, bosses iPhone is iOS 11. (doesn't show up on compatibility list, I know)
Tried using certificates and without. Same error.
Ports open to the appserver- TCP 5222, 8080, 8063, 8443, 9443, 8444 and 5269.
XMPP is correct FQDN.
They will not be using Voip.

Why can the 'droid get thru the FQDN but not the iPhone?

You only need 9443 and 5222.

I guess it is an issue with XMPP domain within OneX Portal. Did you enable 'Mobile VoIP Client' for the user even if SIP is not configured in IPO?

Yes, Its enabled. Power user licenses.
Question is why i,s XMPP ok with Android and not with iPhone?

I guess 'Mobile VoIP Client' is enabled but IPO is not reachable via SIP. So the app tries to connect via SIP even if you don't want to use SIP. Try to disable 'Mobile VoIP Client'

I'll disable the mobile VoIP client for the user . The customer's boss left the day of install to go on business trip and wanted this feature right away. We'll have to test with somebody else on site to see if they can get to it internal.

I remember someting with the XMPP address where for Andriod it could be set to the IP addrres of the 1Xportal, but for IPhone you do need to set the FQDN..

So the magical Apple fairy must have inspired me this morning.
I had the XMPP set to the internal server hostname. I changed it to the FQDN and viola!, the new error was to install the certificate even though it wasn't using it.
Installed certificate and all started working as it should. Stupid iPhone!!
