Has anyone out there had a successful implementation of One-X Mobile Preferred on 8.1 on a WINDOWS IMPLEMENTATION where the voicemail module in the application actually works. Our company has had several implementations of this product on Windows and android users receive "Failed to fetch voicemail" and iPhone users receive "Voicemail download failed".

Thank you

i prefer to use Linux when i need vmpro and one x portal.
but i think you need be check if port 8080 is set in iss but i am not sure.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Everything works fine for One-X portal. The only issue with the mobile app. That leads me to believe it is not an IIS issue, but I could be wrong.

it uses the web voicemail part like ums does.
so yes it uses iis :)
but ums uses port 80 and one x portal uses port 8080.

You need to make sure that the web voicemail components are installed when installing vmpro, which means IIS and all that jazz, as if you were installing UMS. I had the same issue until I did that.

Then I moved it from normal vmpro to UMS with exchange and it all went to hell, so just fyi.

We already have a working deployment of UMS in this scenario, so all of the components must be installed. Any other ideas?

Did you manage to get it sorted? and if so what did you have to do?
Having the same issue on my in house system and would like to get it sorted.

Thanks.

Just got it sorted, re-installed entering the ip address of the voicemail server during the one-x install instead of manualy afterwards and that sorted it.

Yea we have done that too. I believe we are going to wipe everything and do a fresh installation.

So can someone PLEASE summarize the steps on VMP / 1XP to get the Voicemail to work on 1x mobile? We are still receiving "Failed to fetch voicemail" pop up .. IPO 8.0/ Windows2008 server platform

This is what I have found. The installation needs to follow the order below:

IIS - I have installed all components except the FTP Server and Hostable Web Core (because Avaya cannot tell us what components are actually needed).
Voicemail Pro - Making sure to install the web campaign and web voicemail components
One-x Portal - Set the XMPP domain to a FQDN

When following this installation procedure, I have had satisfactory results.

I forgot to mention, this does not seem to ever work on iPhone yet. I am working with Avaya on that issue.

I have a customer with a mix of Android an iPone and there is no problem playing VM Messages. ( Rel 8.0.something )

A simple mind delivers great solutions

Thank you Sgrossman. I have all that installed; however, the XMPP domain is set to 127.0.0.1 which is ok I think. Still no lucks though. Any special tweak required on the VMP?

xmpp really needs to be a FQDN, and that FQDN needs to be internally resolvable to the internal address of the system, and externally to external IP of the network (with the proper ports forwarded).

Anyone still having issues with this?
We are trying to get another One-X mobile deployment fully functional. We have our in house system running fine now.
What we found was we were trying to install it on Windows Server 2008 R2 but got wierd issues. No one could retrieve voicemail via the mobile app at all and we had one or two people that could not connect.
We switched the OS to Win Server 2008 and now the voicemail retrieval works just fine and everyone can connect.
We are trying to get it to work for a site now that is running Windows Server 2003 R2 and are getting "Failed to retrieve voicemail' errors.
I am wondering if this problem is the same issue with the OS.

Thanks in advance

No vocemail on the app is a bug when you are a hotdesker and not logged in on a hardphone.

Then it must have been 2008R2 but i really think it is a setting on it.
But i rather use the Linux apps server.
No hassle with firewalls on the server and IIS and prerequisites for it.
Just install and configure, nothing else.

Yes, it seems that the previous issue was the Server 2008R2.
Now we are having the same problem at a different site with Server 2003 R2.
I am really hoping not to have to load a different version of the OS at this site.
There's not that many settings to change on the One-X Portal site for configuration But I'll go back through them to make sure I have them correct.
