The system I am trying to connect to is an S8700 release 014x.00.1.731.2
The only One-X I have is the latest and we have a strange issue here.
The old Softphone works fine in Control a Phone and Road Warrior mode but the One-X will only control a phone-when you launch in "My Computer" mode the application actually logs the phone out but then comes up with an "unnamed registration error".
The same behavior has followed 2 different PC's-one a laptop and the other a Desktop.
One XP and one Vista.

I use the "Computer" mode all the time from my office for remote troubleshooting without an issue. My lab system is a 5.2 and all of the systems I connect to are 5 and higher-just an FYI.

Does anyone have any ideas?
Anyone know of any compatibility issues?

Is the phone set configured as "IP softphone" "Y" on the first page?

Yes-as I mentioned Softphone works fine in both modes.

I am looking for some specific problem like a port blockage or something along those lines.

I don't want to be crass but read the post please.

It works in every form except Road Warrior via One-X Communicator.

Thanks-

Are you using One-X communicator externally or from an internal (LAN) location?

Is there any network address translation happening between the PBX and the computer running One-X Communicator?

It behaves the same internally or from a VPN connection and ONLY with One-X Communicator.
The old Softphone works fine both ways.
That is why I am thinking some kind of port blockage-these guys are beyond insane with security.
May be the One-X uses some different oddball ports to communicate and the port is blocked from traversing to another VLAN?
Or a compatibility issue-The neweset One-X with an older CM?

You can set the ports in One-X communicator to limit what ports it will use, but if it's not working internally either, you might check your Microsoft fiirewall settings on your PCs.

Exceptions will have to be added for the ports that are used by One-X communicator. The default ports used are 1024 to 65535. They're set under the "advanaced" settings in One-x Communicator.

You should try disabling the PC firewall software you use, and see if that doesn't clear up the problem. If it does, you'll need to add exceptions for the ports you set in One-X communicator.

I actually get this from an error log-
I am wondering if it is a One-X SP4 with a CM R4 issue?

ERROR: RAS : processSwitchRelease: incompatible switch release

Maybe Road warrior wasn't available then?
Like I said it works controlling the phone so it is hard to imagine it is a PC setting.

Gotta love Avaya and their backwards compatibility!

Thanks for the input.

On display capacity - page 11 do you have the entry: oneX_Comm listed with licenses? If not it won't work.

First thing I'd check...

Thanks,
