I am looking to streamline the install process for One-X Agent. Currently I have a PowerPoint that shows the user all the settings to change during and after the install to get them up and running. I have already modified the Install.properties file in the install directory which helps with the installation specific portions. Next I am trying to do the majority of the settings such as server IP, AUX codes, Dialing Rules, etc. I have read the documentation but am at a standstill, I modified the XML files, I have the XSD files but frankly I'm not sure where to go from here? Do I place them in the install directory somewhere and they will be auto referenced as part of the install? Unfortunately the Central Management server is not an option at this time.

The XML files you mofidy have to go into a profile folder here:

C:\Users\[user PC login ID]\AppData\Roaming\Avaya\one-X Agent\2.5\Profiles

The system creates a folder called default when it installs the program. Just write over all the files that it creates with your modified files.

Is there a place to insert them with the install file to have it copy / install the files for you? I guess I could custom script it but if the Avaya installer can do it that would be even better.

You have to create your own install script to copy the files over after the install is done. Otherwise you have to purchase Avaya's Central Management product.

Thank you all. I ended up creating a batch file to do the silent install then copy the files over to the <default> profile directory.

you can install 1x central server and all the agents settings/configs would pull from there

Unfortunately, not all of us have $60,000 to install a centralized server. I'd love to have one, would make our Citrix environment a hell of a lot easier to manage.

I'm still putting the finishing touches on my scripted install. When I get it "perfected" I'll share it with the group.
