I think this is an issue with Windows, but I have a user who's microphone appears to keep muting itself.

Have change recording device so that windows will not automatically adjust recording volumes, disabled power down of usb devices, headset is updated with latest firmware and is approved Avaya device.

Any thoughts?

Is it any time during the call? Maybe firewall or some other port conflict that comes up on the PC during the call?

Try this: (this is win 7 based)

Assuming you have the sound icon in your tasktray....
. right click it
. choose 'sounds'
. in the sounds windown choose tab 'communications'
. choose 'do nothing'

kyle555 - it's at the beginning of the call, user gets the call, caller can't hear her (she also can tell because there is no sidetone) she presses the mute button on her headset cord to mute and again to unmute and the caller can hear her.

friburg - already did that, have changed all settings the Windows would automatically adjust.

It appears that it was the actual headset model (Plantronics Blackwire 510, which is supposed to be supported for one-X Agent).

I had checked to make sure the firmware on the Plantroics was up-to-date as well, but no change in the issue.

I changed her to a Jabra Headset model that we also use and the issue stopped.
