One workstation has ceased being able to access the internet. The wires seem to be fine; I can ping any address fine and I can ping the router.

What happens is that it logs on fine and no matter which profile (inc Administrator) logs on, the internet is not accessable in IE, Netscape or Firefox. Sometimes I can access the router's IP address web-interface but not always.

It's definitely not the router's firewall or access settings. The computer's GP settings are the same as every other computer and the computer's own internet settings are typical too. I cannot track down the cause...

I don't know what else to look for :-s

Can you ping msn.com or google.com? What happened last to the PC? Windows updates, hard shut down? Have you checked the log files? Are the IP settings correct: preferred DNS server correct, renew-release the NIC? Can't always access the router interface? Have you tried a different port on your switch, changed patch cables? Is there a firewall on the PC blocking HTTP or port 80?

The DNS Server details are fine. There's no firewall set on the computer and the router's firewall settings are not restricting that computer.

I've tried a different port on the switch and also tried using DHCP as well as a different fixed IP address. It will ping with a reply.

The logs are at the end and I've applied a hotfix, which didn't solve the problem either...

Did you try setting up the proxy manually within the browsers?

At the moment, there isn't a proxy server, so nothing is configured for that.
