one webserver two website one server certificate

Hello there
we have a production website and a test website on the same webserver. On the production website we have a global server certificate. On the test website we don't have a certificate. Should the test website also have a global certificate to maintain security of the production website.

If your test site has a different domain name then you can get a funky popup warning when using the production certificate.

Say if your production site is

http://www.acme.com

and your test site is

http://www.acmetest.com

... if you use the acme.com cert on the acmetest.com server then you can get a browser popup warning that the domains don't match.
