I have a SCN(3.0 69) which one site in particular, only has one way voice path. I can call this site from the hub, and have no issues, but from this spoke to all the others, I have one way voice path. I have both ticked and unticked media path w/ the same result.

Any sugestions....thanks!

Figure it out damn-it!

It would be helpfull to know how your scn is setup. i.e. type of connection, line, routers, interface, etc...

Can you ping from the central site to the remote and vice versa with no troubles ? Are your routing tables good ? Is your router on the remote site blocking or filtering any inbound traffic ?

...

Yaze.
Chaos, Panic and Disorder, my work here is done.

You might also want to check if your gateway ips are correct in your Line configuration...

that's the first thing that occurred to me, as well. check that the remote IPO knows its default gateway. then check to see if firewalls are blocking any UDP ports.

One way voice paths are commonly caused by having "Allow Direct Media Path" checked on one side of your VPN lines, but no mesh network topology in place. If you are using a hub configuration, make sure that you do not have that option turned on.

Sorry, I shouldn't reply to these threads while on the phone, I just noticed your mention of media path.

Sounds like your UDP stream is getting blocked somehow, what type of configuration is this? VPN, point to points, frame relay?

Thanks for the response's. I had an IP route that was confusing things.

Melmac, you say to untick the media path when using hub and spoke....is that the recommended way????

New problem, IP phones(remote via VPN-pix 501's). Can call the phone, can call out from the phone.....but no display. Any suggestions there?

Thanks for the effort.

Yes, untick it for hub and spoke unless you can actually pass traffic direct between the locations. When you allow direct media path, you are sending the signaling through the hub, but the actual UDP voice stream is going direct between location. And with UDP being a connectionless protocol, there is no way of knowing when that traffic doesn't actually make it - and you get your one way voice paths - or none at all.

On your new issue, check your Fixup statements in the PIX's, if your are fixing up H.323 you might try disabling it and see if it has any effect. Worked for me a few years ago when I had issues with a PIX based VPN.
