Hi All, need help to solve the oneway Speech Path problem in Ip to Tdm calls over H323 trunk. When making conference , call transfer over H323 oneway speech path. Node A & Node B (CS 1000M)are newly upgraded to SW Rel.7.50Q.

This is typically a media resource issue with either the MC32s card or the MGC card in a 1000E. Since yours is a 1000M I'm assuming you are using MC32S cards, correct? If so do they stat idle?

I am using MC32S & MC32, Call transfer/Conference within Node (Node A&B) are no issue. It only happened if the call transfer/conference from Node A to Node B.

check your default gateway settings and VLANs, sometimes certain VLANs don't have access to the same VLAN as the Media cards, so you get the one way voice scenario. and sometimes there is a missmatch with a subnet mask, that causes either the phone or media card NOT to use the default gateway (thinking it's in its subnet, and therefore no gateway will be used.)

Had a similar issue after upgrading to 7.50. See thread798-1651652 for my tales of woe. Solution involves turing off h245 tunneling.

Hi curtismo, thank you for the info for disabling the tunneling, I'm looking for these command since I experienced the problem.
In option C. Rel 7.x, how to save the changes (ON or OFF). because after rebooting the Sig. Server (CPDC), the q931Multiplexing turn on (enabled)again.

*log into the sig serv hosting the H323 trunks and type vxShell.
then stat tunniling and disable tunneling.

A. For Rel 7.0
1. First check the state of H245Tunneling is ON or NOT, give
vtrk npmH245TunnelingState

Note:
0-Disable
1-Enable

2. To disable H245Tunneling , give
vtrk npmH245TunnelingDisable

B. For Rel 4.5 and 6.0
1. To check the Tunneling status Login to vxshell, give pdt>vxshell
vxshell>npmH245TunnelingState

2. To disable H245Tunneling
vxshell>npmH245TunnelingDisable

C. for rls 7.x
vtrk q931MultiplexingEnable to turn H.245 on
vtrk q931MultiplexingDisable to turn H.245 off

What is your current patch level? Check maybe your VTRK SU is out of date. There have been some fixes for H323.

npmH245TunnelingState should survive vtrk application restart. But q931MultiplexingEnable is not saved anywhere.

Hi Darrien, I updated the SU path for signalling server and disable the H245Tunneling, it didn't fix the issue. I already open a case for this matter to avaya, and it seems that the problem was fixed in Rel.6.0. No complains receive after the release of SW.7.5Q., they are now investigating the case. I will update this Thread as soon as they send the solution. Thanks to all for the info and responses.

to speed things up you might have to setup a sniffer at both ends and try to find where the voice drops.

if system A (ip phone) is transferring the call to System B (TDM) who hears what? also, is it internal call transfers? or is it a PRI call?

Good luck with Avaya.....

resolve problem, one way speech path:
1. Latest CS deplist- CS 1000-vtrk-7.50.17.16-143.i386.000.ntl
2. MC32S Loadware/Patch- p30948 & p31890

Is that CS1000-vtrk-7.50.17.16-143.i386.000.ntl a new patch? I'm patching with the latest downloadable Linux SP on the ESPL site (from September) and it is installing cs1000-vtrk-7.50.17.16-105.i386.

yes that is the latest Sig.Server deplist. The MC 32S is should be requested from AVAYA support, It is not accessible from ESPL site.
