I have an OPT 61c RLS 3.0 and have been having some problems with people not being heard when they place a call from the 61c to an internal or external number, but if they put the call on hold then retrieve it from hold it works fine they can be heard. This happened about 4 months ago and I replaced both PER SIG cards, and that worked, but now it's back. I am at a loss any help would be greatly appreciated.

What phones are being used? It could be a patch or firmware issue.

Yeah haven't worked on a 61c but have on an 81 and 11.

I would guess you have another failure somewhere but you wouldn't imagine it is the same PER SIG cards since you replaced them 4 months back - could be a cable issue??

So you think it might be the cable on the per sig cards then?

If it happens on both CPU/network module I would not think it would be a card on the modules, unless it happened consistently with one module. Have you tried to INI the system, or possibly reload? Does running an audit in LD 44 show any errors?

Maybe so, I have had to replace cables before - did you replace them when you replaced the cards? I agree with pcat200 if it is happening consistently with one module.

No I did not replace the cables when I replaced the cards. That is not something the Army keeps for backups. I will see if I can get some new ones and let yopu know. Thanks.

Yeah could be some other issue though - I am trying to remember from 2004-2006 (and to even recall what the cables exactly look like on per sig cards).
You can research Nortel's site to see if there are any bulletins also.

I don't want you spending money on cables based on my recommendation and finding out it is something else. Unless they are cheap and you think its a good idea to try :)

Not spending money is always a good thing. Anything else you can think of would help.

I swapped both per sig cards and it seems to have done the job. At least nobody is complaining anymore.
