Hi all,

I manage an SBS2008 server. There are about 5 users set up on it, all of whom have the email of "username@domain1.com" set up as their primary email. They all also have "username@domain2.com" set up as a secondary address.

On one of the users, he is only contactable on the domain2 address, anything set to domain1 just seems to get lost.

This has happened since the user was set up!

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Regards

Telnet from your PC to the server on port 25:
helo oi.com
mail from: <your email address>
rcpt to: <his domain1 address>

Then use message tracking to find it. Telnet might even help you to find it.

Cheers Zelandakh!

found the problem, and I can't believe it took this long to do it!

with some weird results coming back from telnet, I had a long hard think about how it is set-up here, sadly I have not set up any new emails here as it was all done by my predecessor.

eventually worked out that the mail server (not the exchange) was still hosting the domain1 domain, and was forwarding everything to the domain2 accounts hosted by the exchange!

what a kludge!!

thanks for the help, and pointing me towards a resolution.
