Hi everyone.

Just wondering if someone could suggest the best way to have two people share the same phone, with two separate extensions, and two separate mailboxes.

I have a couple of unused extensions, so I tried doing a call forward on both of those to a third extensions where the users actually sit. But that didn't work unless phones were actually plugged in at the forward locations.

Links to previous posts would be appreciated as well...I didn't have any luck finding an appropriate one.

My KSU/software - MDR5 ENG/SP
Startalk Voicemail

Thanks!

You can rig up two mbx's to the same phone with "internal" message notification, but as for two extension numbers on the same phone, no: unless by extension number you mean mailbox number.

You can have 2 extensions...
Don't use call forwarding use answer DN. The phone doesn't need to be plugged in.

Can Hunt Groups be done on a MDR5? If so, what about a hunt group that rings at the intercom button. You could even set the hunt group to have a distinctive ring.

...Just a thought.

Yep, ARR! Hunt groups were available beginning in 4.0 in either the CICS or MICS. But anyhoo..... the answer DN thing would work quite well. Good on ya telemarv, I hadn't thought of that either......
(writing a cheat sheet as we speak)

Re Hunt groups... My mistake. Too many versions to keep straight.
