One phone does not ring

Over the weekend, one phone on our IP office simply quit ringing. I have checked DND and huntgroups and evertything. Does anyone out there know what this could be.

Also, all functions of the phone are normal, it just makes not audio notification of incomming calls or transferred calls.

If you lift the handset whilst looking in call status or SSA does it show as a no user? If so try dialling *36, that may log it back in.

Can you make calls from it?

Have you tried swapping handsets?

What kind of handset?

ACE - Avaya Certified Expert

Yes, the 5410 phone functions just fine just does not ring.
I have swapped this 5410 out with another and it bahaves the same way.

*36 logs the user out like normal and the phone still does not ring with no user logged in.

Check forwarding.
Check it has not been disable from any hunt groups

No Fowarding
Enabled in all hunt groups.

Are your call appearance keys set to "no ring"

Try deleting the extension, reboot then add the extension back and reboot....don't know why that is happening...what release of IPO are you using?

Right lets go right back to the phone.
On the handset display please write down what it says.

IE you will have some Charectors Such as.

G N or some others. What do you have on this phone.

Also 5.2 is a software version so you IP O is on a 3.2 build, we are trying to help but it really helps if you can fire loads of info at us to help you :)

OK, the appearance thing got her rining, but she is not a receptionist so she does not need to answer all calls, just intercom calls and direct calls from outside

But this is Call appearance keys.

Internal and Directed calls will all be presented to the phones appearence keys if they are set to no ring they will do just that.

Call appearence keys are local to that one phone.
Line appearence keys are global for the external lines.

To be honest sounds like you need some re-programming done to make the system work for you.

Look in Incoming Call routes and Hunt groups.

Some thing must be set to ring this phone unless you have either line appearence keys or some form of bridge appearence with some one who is set to ring on all calls.

Perhaps its easier if one of us looked at your config.
