Ok, here's a stumper for me.

Aria 350 V03.10.09

Can't add mailboxes in certain ranges.

5 digit mbx's.

The particular range that i can't add is 56xxx.

If i try to A(dd) 56883 she tells me "mbx number is already in use"
If i try to C(hange) 56883 she tells me "that's not a valid mbx number"

I ran a subscriber mailbox usage report, specifying mbx from 56000 to 56999. The report comes up blank.

They have almost 500 RTUs for new mailboxes.

Any ideas??

Check your networks nodes, You may have a network node that has entries conflicting with this range.... Probably 56 + 3 digits

I was hoping...

They have Octelnet and AMIS installed, but I don't believe they even utilize them.

anyway, only 3 nodes installed. 4, 42 and 888.

don't think that is it. Darn.

Run 0, 10, 11 and garbage collect. Make sure you get a capture file of 0, 10, and 11. If those numbers are in use, they should show up on either 0 or 11. Garbage collect may clear up the problem. Have you noticed any "Unknown Network Prefix in Group Member" errors in the status log?

But if you look at the addressing of the nodes especially 888 I'll bet you will see that the number range is in use.

If any node has 5 plus 4 or 56 plus 3 you can't add a mailbox in that range

Yes, I agree with Ken,

Go to Menu 15, network nodes, select 3 - Define/Change Node Profile, then select a node #, then select 4 - Specify/List Valid Addresses for this Node. You will probably find one with 56 + 3 digits.
