Yup, here's an example.
[small](note the onload function that alerts the page has been loaded - it does not retrigger after clicking the button which proves the page is not reloaded - I put it in cause I wasn't sure myself

Cheers Kaht. That very nearly worked. The only problem I have is that if the link is re-clicked I end up with multiple anchors in the URL is

just use a sexy regexp to strip off the existing anchor declaration:
