Hello,

We're running Informix Dynamic Server 7.30 on a Net Server (HP) Box running Unixware 7.1

I'm attempting to backup my logical logs using the log_full.sh shell, but the next time a log complete and backup start then ONBAR hangs. If I try to do a manual backup (ontape -a) the system tells me a backup is running.

I need kill the onbar process and then run ontape -a

Every morning when I change the tape the next time a log completes and a backup starts the backup just hangs. I then try to do a manual backup (ontape -a) but the system tells me a backup is running. I take the system offline and then bring it back online and then can do a manual backup.

Thanks ¡

(Sorry for my english)

Hi there,
you need to ensure what media way are you using to backup your logs.
If you're using a Storage Manager, such as TSM or EMC, you should configure your BAR* onconfig variables to do so.
If not, if you're using a tape device, you should disable the ALARMPROGRAM onconfig variable lie this:

ALARMPROGRAM $INFORMIXDIR/etc/no_log.sh

This should solve the problem.
