I have two issues with on site notification of emergency calls on our 81c.

1) I can only seem to trap 911 *OR* 9911, both of which work to dial emergency services. No one on site is really clear what the legal requirements of how users need to be able to dial 911, but the general consensus is, it seems to be best if they both work. However, only being able to track one of the numbers is a pretty basic limitation. Have I missed something or is the switch really limitted like that?

2) I can only send on-site notification of an emergency call to a single TN. This has become an issue because we have operator locations, one for daytime and one for night shift. Is there any way to send the notification to more than one TN? Because there doesn't seem to be an easy way to switch in the evening.

Look in LD 24 ESA data and see if ESDN is 911. Also look at DDGT. If DDGT eauals 911 then this is what is dialed from the pbx. This option provides the ability to redirect 911 call to another dn in your system to be answered there instead of going out to the PSAP as normal 911 calls would. If you can dial ac1 (9) plus 911 to get there, that is probably set up as a SPN in LD 90. Emergency Services Access was implemented by Nortel to comply with federal legislation that requires 911 functionality. The NTPs state that ESA packages 329 330 331 provide for this, but they also designed it for flexible control by the pbx implementor. Your legal requirements would have to be answered by perhaps your network provider.

The OSN key can only be programmed on 1 set.

if 9-911 is in the spn as mentioned, you can create a new or modify the RLI (if not used for anything else) to use this same routing -

Built a new DMI
Del 3
Inst 911

for RLI
entry 0
LTER yes
DMI <-- enter the DMI built above

This will send the 9-911 call out over the same 911 setup you have programmed in LD 24
