Hello. I'm using Crystal XI and am trying to attach an on-demand subreport to a report. The problem is, the On-demand subreport needs to have 2 subreports in it as well, but when I do the steps to add an on-demand to my report, it drops off the 2 subreports.

Is what I'm trying to do even possible?

Thanks,

Thanks chelseatech for your response. I was trying to use a hyperlink per your suggestion and can't get that to work either. One of the added issues it there is security on this report so people can only see what they have rights. So, I modified my main report to put the two subreports back in it. That part works fine. The problem I run into is when people need to drill down from there.

So I have:
Main Report (lists Managers and the people under them)
I need to click on a person under a manager and then it will bring up a 1 page report with that employees information. This part has 2 subreports that contain job history and review history. From here, Managers want to then be able to click on that employee to see their employees. I was trying to put in the On Demand subreport in this 1 page report and it's basically the exact same report, only I'm linking by supervisor code, so it will pull up the correct information. Since you can't do subreports within subreports, when I pull up the next layer of 1 page reports, those 2 subreports mentioned above disappear.

I'm not sure either how to get a hyperlink situation to work and which option hyperlink to use. I tried 'another file' and that didn't seem to work. The other report option seems to be just objects, not an entire report.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Hi Mellicks,

Can I suggest this approach. Create the employee report with it's subreports and make the manager list a parameter for selection. You could use a PIN number to secure the list so they can't see details they shouldn't.

good luck
