I had a customer ask for a feature I've never thought of before. They are a telemarketing firm and would like to be able to leave a canned greeting in a prospect's voice mail if they don't answer. I tried using a RAD transfer (RAD in a hunt group, agent conferences hunt group, releases call), but the timing is difficult to nail down and the far-end voicemail will sometimes get the transfer/conf ringing or only part of the message. Does anyone have any ideas for this?

There are dialers designed specifically for this.

Thanks. Does anyone have any experience with one that integrates with the MCD?

The expensive ones will connect via T1 or PRI

Most can use simple analog lines.

On re-reading your post, I have a better understanding of what you are trying to do and the dialer probably wont do it.

I see now that the problem is simply how quickly the agent can transfer to the greeting. A rad would probably do quite nicely but nothing would be automatic. The conference would have to be invoked manually and that takes time.

I'm still thinking about it but nothing comes to mind as yet.

Maybe.....
A non-ACD agent might be able to have a personal ring group with a hand off key.
When ready to leave the msg, press hand off key that rings an external recording device. The device answers, plays msg and hangs up.
Don't program it as a RAD and it should work.

Maybe.... Just thought of it. Needs to be tested.

dryaquaman,

That is definitely worth testing. I'll post the results. Thanks for the idea.

After thinking about this, if the recording is not programmed as a RAD, then only one person would be able to use it at any time, correct? It would have to be programmed as a RAD for the conferencing feature to work.

I think I've got it

Set up a Key line as secretarial and designate the RAD hunt group as the DN with no ring.

I tested with a VM hunt group but not a RAD.

The secretarial key will transfer and release with a single push of the key.
