I installed Windows XP on my new PC. The MoBo has On-Board Sound. The first time (on Back up HDD)it recognised new Hardware 'Multimedia Audio Controller' (when I put the backup HDD back - no sound device found). However on my next install it didn't find it. Is there a way of installing the 'multimedia audio controller', do I have to install XP again or am I missing something simple.

Find the CD that came with the motherboard. Drivers are on there. Cheers,
Jim

Check if the option "enable onboard sound" in the BIOS is enabled.

HI
if u have the driver cd if auto ply then ok if not then

One other thing to check is whether or not the onboard sound is enabled in the BIOS or if jumpered, that the sound enable jumper is set on the motherboard.
