Hello there. I'm new knowing mainly basic Crystal Report writing. I am trying to omit the last 4 digits in a string. The string is data extracted from a database and has many different results, such as a name of a department. The srings are all different lengths, so using the "Left" subscript isn't helping me....Are there any other solutions?

Thank you.

left({databasefield},len({databasefield})-4)
