I can't believe I did this but I was working on my computer I have had win98/win2k dual boot for 3 months now and I decided to just stick with win2k. I had problems for the past 3 days getting rid of 98 I tried fdisk, format from 2k side and yesterday I finally got fdisk to work BUT I didn't format the c: drive before I rebooted computer.!! OMG
ok c: and d: are one hard drive c partition is 15 gig with win98 and d partition is 15 gig with win2k but of course c: is the active partition. Now all I get is "searching for boot record from Ide-0..OK" and it stays there.
I tried boot disk wont work it doesn't go that far.
PLEASE tell me how to fix this.

amd 1000Mhz computer dvd,cd-rom,128mb ram,30 gig HD
Thanks in advance

k...if you want to listen to me..then here is a solution so you do not have to lose everything.....install windows2000 on c drive........when you have done this you should be able to boot up and view the contents on d drive so you do not lose all your files......this is what I would do....so you are using fat32 then...

Problems with NTLDR
Another common problem is that you may boot the system and see the following message:

BOOT: Couldn't find NTLDR
Please insert another disk
If you see this message, your boot sector is okay because it still points to the NTLDR file. However, your NTLDR file is either missing or damaged. To correct this problem, simply copy the NTLDR file from another system or install a new copy of Windows NT to a different directory.

ok i tried copying ntldr to the same place its located on this computer which is winnt/servicepackfiles/i386 but it still wont boot. So if I install win2k again on d: it will then boot but can i then erase it so i don't have two copies of win2k?
