We are trying to use the OLP/Workbook to read programed data from a large MICS we take care of.Once we build our workbook, aquire the data from the system via direct connection to the RAD.We can see the progress of the download but once its finished, how should we save it to view it for future use? We tried to save it as the name of the system we are backing up but it gives us a error message of "EXCEL.exe, windows is shutting down operation".We have never used this workbook before and maybe we are missing a step or two.I think we are close but not quite there. Thanks for any help.

Create a folder with the site name. Put it in there.

Sphoneman, thanks for the reply. We put the saved data in a folder with the sys ID to the system we are aguiring data from and we still can't get it to open after we try to save it.Still get the same error message. This is what we get.
"Excel.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows.you will need to restart the program. An error log is being created." Seems everything goes fine until we try and save this data, and try to reopen it later. What you thik we are still doing wrong ? Thanks for any help.

What version of excel are you using? What version of MICS software? What version of RAD?

I have found some problems when performing a full acquire on 6.1MR. Do partials and SAVE between steps. I think it was the Services section giving me problems.

Thanks Telemarv and Sphoneman,
We are trying to aquire MICS 2.0 XC data.We are using Excel Office 97 version 5.0. We have also used two different RAD's,and they are new out of the box.If its not too much to ask, what steps do you guys use to do this workbook back up stuff ? We have a large system to do work on and we hope we don't have to write down all this programmed data in case we loose this thing. We are doing a backup anyway to push it back in if it cold starts, but we'd like to have a "paper" copy of the program record if possible. Thanks for everyones help.

thanks telemarv for planting a seed.we found what we were doing wrong.on the "save as" box, there is a save as drop box with several types of excel to use that is compatible with the workbook.we played around until we found one that would work.thanks for the help.

thanks sphoneman also, looks like we may have to do partials and save like you said.we did a full yesterday over a modem to the rad and got lots of errors.started doing partials and were able to save stuff.thanks again guys.

ps Harley time on the Blue Ridge Parkway is here !!!!! be careful and enjoy !!!!
