I’ve been looking in the archives but I still need a definitive yes or no to a question. I have a BCM 400 (main office) with three BCM 50 (remote offices) connected with VOIP trunks over MPLS network. All BCM’s dial out via the T-1 on the BCM 400.

1. Do I have to have PRI for OLI to work?
2. Does BCM 400 require PRI enabler license similar to MICS?
3. (The big question) Will the OLI data from one of my remote BCM 50’s be transmitted across the VOIP trunk to the BCM 400 and out on the PRI?

If answer Yes to questions 1,2, and 3, is there anything else I would need to make this happen? I keep seeing reference to MCDN.

Ty

1.Yes
2.No
3.Yes if you have MCDN keycode.

MCDN is what is needed to send OLI across VoIP trunks. You need one keycode in every system.

One more question. In this scenario will the OLI data be presented to the 911 operator if a call is made from one of the remote BCM’s?

Ty

Yes, the OLI will be send to anyone on the Public Network.

Just checking. We had an issue last week where one of the remote sites dialed 911 and the ambulance showed up to the main site where the voice T-1 is installed, not the remote site.

How is 911, going to know your exact location from OLI? What is the clue your entering in that field?

"Arizona Cardinals NFC Champions!

Since you don't have more then 5 remote sites, you could use "routing services" for your 911 calls.
You need at least one trunk in each remote site and thru routing if someone at remote site A dials 9-911 it will be re-route to the Bcm50-Site A copper trunk instead of going thru the PRI where the emergency services will get the main location adress.
