I have a table of employees and have an OLE field for each record, in which I insert a JPEG of the employee. All of the JPEGs are approx. 60 kb in size. However, each picture that I add to the database increases the database by 3-4 MB (this is after I compact the DB). Any idea what is causing this and how to keep it from happening? I have a 16 MB database that becomes about 70 MB after adding only 20 or so pictures.

forgot to mention, this happens regardless of whether I actually put the object in the database or simply link it

I have exactly the same problem. Please, Mr Clickster, have you found an answer?

I must add that if you delete the offending table & re-compact, you STILL have a huge file size. This suggests that this is may be a bug in Access rather than being our fault.
