OLE Failed to launch server application

Some of my users cannot open a pdf file attached in the ole. It says "failed to open server application" They do have a pdf reader and they can open PDF files thru their documents. What could be wrong? How do I correct this problem? any help would be appreciated, thanks

sounds like a file association problem.

can they copy the pdf to their desktop and open it from there? I've experienced several problems with varied versions of pdf documents not being able to be opened from one user to the next depending on the version of adobe installed on their particular machine.

if in doubt. uninstall and reinstall adobe and standardize to a specific version level across your network.

It cannot be Adobe version specific as all my users are on Terminal server and have the same version of Adobe installed. Thanks anyway, Any other ideas?
