My question is in regard to an error that I keep getting when trying to insert an OLE object into a table. My goal is to have the image change on my forms/reports with the new record. I have been unable to create a successful link to an outside folder so now I am trying to just add the image into the table. Everytime I do though, I get the following error:

Microsoft Access
A probelm occurred when Microsoft Access was communicating with the OLD server or ActiveX control.
Close the OLE server and restart it outside of Microsft Access. Then try the original operation again in Microsoft Access.

I have registered all the ActiveX controls I think might be related to the process already. I am at a loss to what is my problem here, please help!

Hi there,
I've done something similar to this some time ago and if you look in the Northwind database you can see that the employees and products tables have OLE image fields. There must be some component missing as this should be as straight forward - you should be able to link to an outside folder without problems

As long as you've linked all the necessary add-in's and references then it shouldn't really be difficult to do. Is the Analysis Toolpak installed?

What is the analysis toolpack? I don't think that I have it installed on my version if it is an add on. I am running Access 2002 Professional. I checked in both my add-in's and ActiveX controls and did not see this toolpack listed. I also tried to find it on my installation discs in case it had not been installed previously (like the SQL Desktop Server) and was unable to find it there either.
