OLE error code 0x80070005: Access is denied??

Hi, I tried posting this in the TS forum, but nobody seems to have an answer.

I have a Terminal Server with several applications. There are two applications that have a FoxPro back end. One day one of the apps started getting an error code "OLE error code 0x80070005: Access is denied" when trying to launch it.

This started popping up during mid afternoon. No updates were made to the server and I'm the only one with Admin rights. I've searched the web and found this error only in development forums. I'm assuming it's some rights issue that's gotten screwed up in the registry or DCOM perhaps?

The only way to get rid of this error is to give users Admin rights on the Terminal Server which is not a great option. I have this application on workstations connecting to a server mapped drive. There are no problems launching the app from a workstation. It seems it's just a problem on the Terminal Server.

I'd be grateful if anybody has any insight to this. BTW the other Foxpro app seems to work fine, but I think it's an older version

Access denied - no matter what the error - usually means someone don't have access to some resource on the machine.
According to Microsoft:

Error: OLE error code 0x80070005: Access is denied.

Possible causes: This is often due to improper client access set on the server.

Remedy: On the server machine, launch the Remote Automation Connection Manager and choose the Client Access tab. Make sure the System Security Policy is set correctly. If this does not work, try using one of the other Policy options such as Allow All Remote Creates.

Problem solved and it's a weird one.

I ran process analyzer and found the app was trying to run a Wshom.ocx file that was in my personal profile on the TS under documents and settings\myprofile\windows thus the access rights problem with
domain users.

I don't know how the hell that glitch happened! I had to re-register the file in system32 and then it fixed the problem.
