I have a customer that really would like the Voicemail Pro to announce how many Old Messages that he has when he checks his voicemail (for whatever crazy reason!!). Apparently the Magix that we displaced always did this. Can't get him used to Visual Voice which displays all of this - so I am posting here. When you log into the mailbox it tells you how many new messages - anyway to "turn on" the ability to announce how many old messages? Thanks for helping with my burden!

No, tell him to buy a Magix if that's what's most important to him :)

If I remember right, you have an option (in ipo mode) to press 1 to listen to old messages, but nothing automatic

Use the 'force' and teach him the way of the visual voice. It's the only way my friend... It's amazing how stuborn some customers can be. They get so stuck in their old ways they refuse to learn something new, even if it's twice as user friendly.

I completely understand! I have tried. The same customer wants to know the following as well (which I may post in a different thread):

1. Why does a caller who leaves a voicemail within their Voicemail Pro mailbox not get options to a: review their message (listen back to what they recorded), b: not have an option to delete or re-record their message that they have left ?? Again, he says - the Magix always provided these options to the caller who was leaving a message but Voicemail Pro doesn't! Any ideas on this one?

2. Is there any way to surpress the "Your call is being answered by IP Office" and instead just have it announce the mailbox spoken name? Any ideas on this one?

Thanks for all the help folks! I have a few strands of hair left to pull before I give up!

Ok maybe I have had to many pints ( wait no such thing ) Just kidding,

Why would you leave yourself a message? and I beleieve if you "Know" or listen to the prompts you can review or delete the message left.
and if you don't want to hear your call is being answered by IP office . Record your name and a greeting.. basic 101

NYSTECH - You betcha! I love basic 101 - but if only you could get a customer to buy-in to 101 basics!!!!

@adc110
point 1: if the prompt to say leave a message after the beep also said press '#' when you finish recording. Then when the caller presses the '#' the options will be provided.

point 2: that's the default recordings on leaving a msg. Can create a new default leave mail if they cant get specific users to record their own greetings.

Just nosing back in the forum, and the responses aren't tested as I currently have no access to a system, but also couldn't refrain from sticking in a response.
