HI All

We have a weird problem with some of the older IP phones (intertel 86xx) not working with our HP 1910 switches. They were working, and then they suddenly stopped working. When we reset the switch, they sort of work, but as soon as you reset them, or move them onto another port, they stop working (they can’t find the server). I can’t see any problem at all with either the phones or the switch. We've tried different 1910s, and we seem to have the problem with all of them,

any ideas ?? any switch port setting ?

thanks

hi

there are no VLANS on the network.
looks like something do with LLDP on the switch itself

thanks

What changed on the switches ? 1910 switches do not usually default or change back to a config as they are dumb switches . Did you upgrade the switch or tels or phone system with new code ?

A network trace maybe could help point you in the right direction but it sounds like something is being blocked .

Vlan ID
DHCP
etc.
A trace on boot up will tell you if they are reaching the correct servers / switch / vlan/ports etc .
Hard to give a more detailed answer without a little more info !

thanks for the reply
nothing has been changed on the system side apart from a firmware upgrade on the switches.
how can i do a trace on a boot please
