Old INDeX Feature - "Pickup" 1

Good morning all

I wondered whether anyone has had any visibility of 3.0. If so has anyone noticed whether the INDeX feature whereby "pickup" is displayed on the screen of DT handsets and you have visibility of the extension / group that you are picking up is on it's way back in 3.0.

Pickup has always been an option on 2030/2050 phones.

Unfortunatly as it performs Group Pickup it does not work for direct calls which is why it is seldem used. also it does not show the extn number to be picked up.

this is the same in V3.0

I know there is the pickup feature but people tend to prefer the pickup appearing on the screen especially because people upgrading from INDeX are used to using their DSS/BLF keys spare for int & ext sp dials rather than feature keys.

Unless what you're actually saying is that you can program one of the context sensitive keys to display pickup when a call is ringing elsewhere within your group.

O.K. clarification of my earlier post

Pickup can be programmed in exactly the same way as on an INDeX (program,scroll, pickup, passcode, group number, done)

When call is presented to the group the pickup option will appear in the display as per INDeX.

Whre it differs is as follows:-

1) if a cll is made direct to an extn. pickup will not appear ( it is not a group call)
2) you cannot create a seperate pickup group that contains additional members because that group will not be recieving the call, On an INDeX the following would be common

Group 400
users 201,202

Group 401
users 203,204

Pickup group 402
Users 201,202,203,204

Users would be programmed with pickup group 402 to enable them to pick up another depts calls.

THIS WILL NOT WORK ON IPO.

Thanks IP Guru - Still can't get the pick-up to appear on screen, but at least we know it is something we are doing wrong.
