i have a NT workstation computer with a newer Lexmark Z43 printer. since i cant print from this old computer to this newer printer. im getting a new computer. so my question is how can i transfer the customer list to the new computer? should i install my burner to do a backup?

So you just want to move peachtree data? If it is a standalone system, yes, you can simply burn the data to cd. If the company is in c:\peachw\ourcompanydata (where ourcompanydata is the name of the data folder), burn that folder. Install Peachtree on the new computer, then copy the data folder off the cd to the new computer. Launch Peachtree, navigate to where you put the data, and that's it. One other thing to consider, the files will likely be marked as read only when you copy them off the cd to the new computer. After you copy, remove the read only attributes, using the attrib command.

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.
