I have an old 8x24 with centrex software that we recently added a 1fb. all the lines in the branch are centrex but this one and everyone dials 9 to dial out after selecting a line.
when you select the 1fb and start to dial after the fourth digit it throws up Calling + #### gives a half ring and quits.

I believe the system thinks the line is trying to make a 4 digit centrex call and not allowing the dialing to complete.Does anyone know if there is a way to tell the system this is a 1fb instead of a centrex line? the old programming is hard to navigate as it its but i have went thru ever heading i can find but cant seem to find anything that helps.

We could go back and order a new centrex line but we are trying to get away from them due to thier expense compared to 1fbs

Analog Centrex lines are no different than 1FB's, except they are PSTN's off a virtual system and hence the reason for dialing 9 for an "outside line".

When you dial the 4 digits on the 1FB, Calling + #### is this a voice message you hear or is it something on the screen? Have you tried dialing 9 on this line?

Was trying to think back what the issues is with Centrex software, being terrible is the only thing that keeps coming back.....too many dial out issues.

It would be worth your while to go to DR5.1 software if you want to keep the 8X24.

Thanks guys, i think i found it. there was a heading (after the cenrex features i think) that let me choose between Normal, n* and non N*, change the extension to N* and that seemed to fix it.

Personally I want to trash the 8x24 as soon as possible, I have several 0x32 spares but thanks to good old corporate america there is too much paperwork involvled, easier to wait till it dies. LOL
