I have come across a strange problem on my network that I have not been able to resolve yet. On my network, I am having trouble recieving a Word document attachment from a particular person (off-network). When the e-mail and the attachment arrives, the attachment is named ATT00004.dat and contains the Word document as well as e-mail header information in a garbled format. This only happens to a few of my users, the others recieved the e-mail in the correct Word format. What makes this strange is all of the users are on identical Windows2000 computers running Office 2000. No combination of service packs or Office Update hot fixes seems to resolve the issue. Word documents from other off-network senders are recieved without any issue. The user who is sending them is sending them via a pretty standard Exchange 5.5 install. We recieve them through a POP3 server and the messages are delivered to our Exchange 2000 server. I tried deleting and re-setting up the POP3 e-mail accounts on our outsourced POP3 server, to no avail. Any ideas or input where I should go on this one?
