OFO: Initialization failure on: "Shadow?Copy?Components"

I am getting this error. This is a Windows SBS 2003 with Veritas Ver 9.1 Rev 4691 installed. I have another HP server setup exactly the same way with the very same software and it works fine. No errors.

OFO: Initialization failure on: "Shadow?Copy?Components". Advanced Open File Option used: Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS).
OFO: Snapshot error (0xfffffed1): A failure occurred querying the Writer status.

I do not have open file option installed and if I take the check mark off of the shadow copy it backs up fine.

Hi,

Are you backing up any remote servers? Does the error occur for the local server or remote server?

On the server that error is reported on

Open a DOS window and type the following:

vssadmin list writers

A list will be created. There should be no error. If there are and don't clear themselves after a while, restart the server to clear the error.

Edit your selection list and unselect user data under the shadow copy components

I am not backing up any remote servers. I checked the vssadmin and I have no errors.

I have also unchecked user data under shadow copy.

Unchecking user data under shadow copy di not fix the problem.
