Server = Windows 2003 - Clients = XP. All users home folders are mapped to U:\ to a \\server\share

Permissions are set when the folder is created the first time so only that user and administrators have access to it. This is to prevent users from viewing each others private home folders.

When I make the share available offline it doesn't allow synchronization as the user does not have access to the share but only to there own folder on the share.

Any ideas how I can get offline folders working without compromising security? Note there are no restrictions set in the GPO.

Lately I found out that users need Full Control on the share to make Offline Folders working...

Just change permissions is not godd enough...

Regards, Bart

My users have full control(secuirty) to there own folders, but not to each others and not to the share folder (secruity)

Everyone has full SHARE permissions to the shared folder but not secuirty permssions

You mean by Full SHARE permissions: Full Control for everyone?
