OffLine File problem

User was getting a message that some files could not synchronize. Tech did
some troubleshooting. In the course of events the Tech turned off
(unchecked ) "Enable Offline Files"

Files are now gone. User is quite upset since the unsychronized files are
now gone.

Where do these unsychronized files go when you uncheck this option?

Can they be retreived?

Surely the source files that machine was previously synchronising with are still there (on the server?)

The offline synchronization on certain files were failing, so no, they are not on a server
