I have a 3Com OfficeConnect NetBuilder that I am trying to configure. I went through the recommended procedure to start the unit at factory defaults. Now, I cannot get into the console port to configure the unit. I am using a standard DB9 to DB9 null modem cable. I am using HyperTerminal configured as 9600 baud, 8,N,1 and Xon/Xoff but I still cannot get anything to show up on the screen. I have opened up the unit and tried pressing the button (I am guessing that this is the reset button) but nothing is working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, jdpunch !!! There is two possibilities to solve your problem. Or the console baudrate configured is 2400 bps, 4800 bps, etc(except 9600 bps), or console cable pinout is wrong.
Have you ever tried another console baudrate ?? Did you check console cable pinout ?
Tell us the console cable pinout you had did, Ok ?
