I installed Office XP on Windows XP Pro. All was good. Recently I upgraded the hard drive from 40GB to 60GB (using Partition Magic Pro 7 to copy the drive contents). All seemed good until I tried to access the system via Remote Desktop from another PC over the internet.
What happens is that When I attempt to use any Office XP component it informs me that it has detected a hardware change and asks me to re-insert my office XP CD to re-activate the product. As I am not at home, but am accessing the PC remotely, I can not insert the CD. Whn I get home and open the same Office XP application, the re-activation message does not occur, and no request to insert the CD appears. When I am at work, and log in to my home machine with Remote Desktop, the Office-XP re-activation promt shows up again.
This is very frustrating. What can I do about it?
