If i create a Win2k station with Office 2k and i make all the users members of the Users group every time they start office it tries to create their profile but fails and asks for the disk. As an admin user this doesn't happen it just says installing, creates the profile and loads Word.

How can i get around this?

Thanks.

Thats exactly what i don't want to do i'm afraid.

Oh I see,

Maybe you could install Office as the user while he is a member of the Admin group, then once installed remove him / her from the Admin group..Just a thought..

Hi,

Personally, through experience I tend to make the user a member of the local administrators group permanently. I have a fairly tight group policy to control access.

Assuming that office is installed, when a new user is created I make sure that user is part of an OU which has administrator privilages. Setup the user with office etc, then apply your standard group policy via the standard Users OU.

You would have to do this for every new user but we tend to have one user/one workstation.
Hope this helps

We have roaming users, so i'm using roaming profiles.

I have used a .pol instead of a .man profile and the changes are applying fine now as the users can modify their profile.

Thanks for your input tho.
