Hello All,

Some of our users are having problems opening office documents, they are using Windows 2000 or XP and Office '97.

When they attempt to open the document, a message pops up informing them that the document is already open and would they like to open it read-only?

The documents are not in use by anyone else at the time.

Any Ideas?

Thanks in Advance

Are you positive no one else has the document open possibly minimized on their desktop? Can others open the same document at the same time without having the error appear? If that fails have them log off and back in and try again. If all else fails have them reboot!

Hi mate,

Yeah I'm 100% sure that the documents aren't already in use, it only happens on ALL networked documents for some reason?
It doesn't happen when you open them locally????

Just found that out

Cheers
Andy
