i have about 100 pc's with office 97 installed. I need to remove the product completely. The office 97 eraser tool will not work on Windows XP systems. Apart from manually removing all files and registry entries on each machine, does anyone know of another way to remove this software.

Will the (XP) Control Panel applet Add or Remove Program do enough? If it can't/won't do what you want, in what way is it insufficient?

Sloth is the mother of invention. Necessity is just a mother...

Leroc,

why does it not work on XP. Do you get an error or does it just stops? or does it not delete what it should?

ttterk,

manually removing 100 PC's (or even more) is not a good option normally. takes to much time, hence the eraser tools.
But even the normal uninstall will leave files behind, and you still need to "clean" afterwards.

Add / Remove programs only removes part of the program. I need to uninstall all reg entries, program folders, program files, fonts etc etc. All of these can be done manually , but it would take to long to do this on 100 p.c's

Office Eraser and the Office removal tool still leave entries in the registry and program files and folders .
