Office 2k outlook mail count

In outlook 2k lower left corner of screen there is a count of messages in selected folder read, unread.
A few of my users have lost this "function" Anyone know how this can be reset?

I have tried repair and re-install no help, looked for a reg setting but I have no idea what this set of number s is called.

Hi, is your status bar turned off? Go to View in the Outlook main menu - and click on Status Bar.
