If I got a new computer with Windows Vista, without Microsoft Office, can I successfully load Microsoft Office 2003 to get Outlook Express, Word, and Xcel and have it be compatible with Microsoft Vista? Or will it cause compatibility problems?

Should be no problems except you'll have to use Windows Mail that comes with Vista rather than Outlook Express. Good thing, too, because Office 2007 is *different*.

Does Windows Mail come with the basic edition of Vista, or do you need to buy the Professional Edition? Can I use Outlook Express 2003 on Vista if I want?

1.) Office 2003 should be no problem to install...
2.) there is no such animal as Outlook Express in Office 2003 or any other office, it is the mail prog that comes with XP and earlier Windows, which was replaced in vista with Windows Mail... just Outlook and that should work without pain...
3.) Windows Mail should come with the Basic Edition of Vista, if you want to use it instead of Outlook...

4.) most important part: good luck, any problems come back here and ask, we are friendly and don't bite...

I use the outlook that comes with office 2003 with Vista, and have had no problems at all.
