I have a few computers with office 2000 small business edition version on them.
I am trying to update to office SP3 so I install the office SR1 first and then the SP3 update. All goes well until I try to open a word document I get this error" The <filename> can not be found" or is "not a valid name" ...
then when I try to close work I get the message "The file Normal. dot was changed would you like to save"
The only way to make word work again is to uninstall it and then reinstall office SBE only with SR1.
Couldn't find anything about this problem on MS website.
Any ideas??

The case with normal.dot.
What we do is to logon as domainadmin and do a search after normal.dot locally. Replace normal.dot with another normal.dot from a equal computer where the error doesn´t appear.

Thank you , I'll check if that fixed the problem
