I have a customer who bought a bankrupt business and the BCM that was in there. We have set up the BCM and it is functioning fine (I am more of a Norstar tech, but I am learning). Problem is, their headquarters is on another phone system entirely, and they are looking for the best way to transfer callers from the new office to the headquarters. I was thinking to use line redirection or some other feature that is essentially a conference call. Any other thoughts? They have a T1 from a CLEC that comes into a channelbank and hands off to the BCM as loop start trunks, so 3 way calling is not available.

You would need to be able to do 3 way calling and the feature is not available on the T1 circuit.

some providers have it a 2 separate features

just because one is not available the other may be

If it is answered at the BCM then couldn't they do just do a normal transfer?

Since voice transmitted over a T1 line is digital, there is no loss or degradation when you use 2 channels for a conference call, as opposed to regular POTS lines.

Hence since the "link"/"flash" option is not available, the only option you have is to use the "external transfer" option from the voicemail(if used)and rely on another T1 channel for the entire duration of the call. So any external transfer will result in 2 channels being used for the entire call duration(call in, linked by BCM, call out to main office)without signal loss or degradation.

My best solution is to go throught the Callpilot.
Set up the auto attendant to transfer the call.

Set up greeting to say... Thank you for calling XYZ
Set up the CCR Menu to transfer to external main number...

The caller will hear...
"Thank you for calling XYZ.... [System Voice..Please hold]" then the call will be transferred to external number.
