Avaya will say that it is not supported, but I have heard of people using a t1 card on the Partner to receive DID digits from a magix, and point those to partner extensions.

You can kinda do this with the opx modules. The extension on the send system is a CO on the receive system, and reversed. That way the systems can call each other. Caller ID is not passed.
This is real basic, but it works. I had a Partner "behind" a Partner II with it's own co's too. It worked okay. It used four OPX circuits, two each way.

Chris you have been the most helpfull. Will it work from Partner to Magix? These two sites are in different counties. I'm trying to talk the customer out of this because of cost effectivness, but they don't seem to care. If it is possible to do this, and I give them a dollar amount, maybe they'll reconsider. But either way I need to be able to explain to them why this will work but it is bad for business.

Looooong distance. Man, that is going to cost. For the money they may spend .... I only do this locally.
Have they looked into faking a T1 at each end and useing a VPN? The real solution would seem to be the IP Office. Failing that, change the Partner to a small Magix. At least you could do more advanced stuff.
Anyway, the first solution is just copper CO's connecting the systems as far as the switches are concerned. A call can be transfered to the other system. I would use a monitored transfer to the other reception, then to the other party. There will be a delay as the call is placed and answered.

how far apart are the two locations? less than 3000 ft no equipment required. If the dist is greater, you can use an opt card in the magix with opt lines from your svc provider connected directly to the partner.

Don't forget the IROB if you (or Elvis) leave the building. Wiring that goes outside & up the wall is treated in a similar manner.
