OE Password trouble

when i log into outlook express, i have to enter my password two to three times before i am allowed in. this is annoying and i don't think right. Any suggestions on how i can avoid this?

Just for verification. The first time i enter the password, the server times out. same with the second and third time. Usually by the fourth time is when it lets me in.

Tools/Accounts/mail/properties goto advanced and set the time out to max see if that cures the problem?
