We're currently testing an Exchange 5.5 server (SP4).

We're using the IMC to ginve external e-mail access.

Our Outlook clients can send & receive both internal & external mail, whilst the Outlook Express clients can only send & receive internal mail.

They receive an "Unknown Recipient" error when ever they try to send external mail. The error displays the recipents address as x400 address not SMTP.

Any help gratefully acknowledged.

When you find an answer to this question could you forward it to me as I have been struggling to resolve this problem for about a week now.

I set up a custom recipient with an POP3 address and use this to forward to and it just does not work?

You need to change from Do not reroute to Reroute on the Routing tab of the IMS.
